Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Regimental Tie
The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards are Scotland's senior cavalry regiment, formed in 1971 from the amalgamation of the Royal Scots Greys and the 3rd Carabiniers — a union that brought together cavalry traditions stretching back to 1678. The regiment is perhaps best known beyond military circles for their 1972 recording of Amazing Grace, which reached number one in the UK charts and remains one of the best-selling pipe recordings of all time.
But the RSDG's reputation rests on far more than a chart hit: they have served in Northern Ireland, the Gulf War, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan, operating Challenger 2 main battle tanks with the professionalism and aggression that Scottish cavalry has always brought to the battlefield.
This regimental tie carries the RSDG's colours with the pride and swagger that Scotland's senior cavalry regiment has always worn so well.
