Queen's Lancashire Regiment Regimental Tie
The Queen's Lancashire Regiment was formed in 1970 from the amalgamation of the Lancashire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Volunteers) and the Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire), bringing together a combined Lancashire infantry lineage stretching back to 1689.
Drawing on the industrial heartland of north-west England — Preston, Blackburn, Burnley and beyond — the QLR served in Northern Ireland throughout the Troubles, in the Gulf War, Bosnia, Kosovo and Iraq, earning a reputation as one of the most operationally experienced infantry regiments of the post-war era.
The red rose of Lancashire was worn with the fierce county pride that has always characterised the north-west's contribution to the British Army. The regiment amalgamated into the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment in 2006, but the QLR identity remains strong among those who served.
This regimental tie carries the Queen's Lancashire Regiment's colours with the same no-nonsense determination that Lancashire soldiers have always brought to the job.
