Royal Army Service Corps Regimental Tie
The Royal Army Service Corps was the British Army's principal logistics organisation for over a century, responsible for the supply of food, fuel, ammunition and equipment to troops in the field.
Granted the Royal prefix in 1918 in recognition of its First World War service — where the RASC kept the BEF supplied across the Western Front under extraordinary pressure — the Corps went on to serve in every theatre of the Second World War, from the Western Desert to Burma, and in every major post-war campaign through to the Cold War.
The RASC amalgamated with other transport and supply organisations in 1965 to form the Royal Corps of Transport, which itself became part of the Royal Logistic Corps in 1993. Without the RASC, the Army didn't move, didn't eat and didn't fight — a fact that those who served in it understood better than anyone.
This regimental tie is a mark of pride for those who kept the Army supplied and moving.
