Royal Army Ordnance Corps Regimental Tie
The Royal Army Ordnance Corps was responsible for the supply, storage and maintenance of weapons, ammunition, vehicles and equipment for the British Army — the organisation that ensured the Army had what it needed to fight, from the right ammunition to the right spare parts, in the right place at the right time.
Granted the Royal prefix in 1918 in recognition of its First World War service, the RAOC served in every major campaign of the 20th century, from the Western Desert to the Falklands, where RAOC ammunition technicians and bomb disposal operators played a critical role in keeping the task force operational.
The Corps amalgamated into the Royal Logistic Corps in 1993, but the RAOC identity remains a source of pride for those who served in it — particularly among the ammunition technical officers and operators whose bomb disposal work has saved countless lives.
This regimental tie is a mark of pride for those who kept the Army armed and equipped.
