Regimental heritage
Formed in 1959 at Barnard Castle through the amalgamation of the King’s Own Royal Regiment and the Border Regiment, the regiment served as part of the King’s Division before becoming part of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment in 2006. Its Border and Lancastrian heritage continues to be remembered and celebrated.

Badge details
The badge brings together the Lion of England, a laurel wreath honouring the 34th Regiment of Foot’s gallantry at Fontenoy in 1745, and the Royal Crown representing loyalty to the Sovereign.
