About the Household Cavalry
Raised in 1660 by King Charles II following the Restoration, the Household Cavalry has served as the Sovereign’s Mounted Bodyguard without interruption ever since. The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals together form a regiment that is both ceremonial and operational — from Changing the Guard at Horse Guards to armoured reconnaissance on operations worldwide.
About the Badge
The King’s Crown Cap Badge bears the Royal Cypher CIIIR within the Garter — Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense — surmounted by St Edward’s Crown. The pattern of His Majesty King Charles III, worn by both The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals.
