About the Badge
The Cheshire Regiment cap badge — formerly the 22nd Regiment of Foot — is instantly recognisable by its striking combination of botanical and heraldic elements. The badge is set against an eight-pointed star in white metal, at the centre of which sits a gilding metal (brass) circlet inscribed with the regimental title "THE CHESHIRE REGIMENT". Within the circlet, a detailed acorn surrounded by oak leaves — the ancient symbol of Cheshire — is rendered in brass, making this one of the most distinctive and elegant regimental badges in the British Army.
