Cheshire Regiment heritage
Tracing its origins to 1689, the Cheshire Regiment served across more than three centuries of British military history, from the War of the Spanish Succession and the Peninsular War to both World Wars, Korea and Northern Ireland. In 2007, the regiment was amalgamated into the Mercian Regiment, but its traditions and identity remain an important part of the county's military heritage.

About the badge
Formerly worn by the 22nd Regiment of Foot, the Cheshire Regiment badge is set against an eight-pointed white-metal star.
