15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars Regimental Tie
The 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars were formed in 1922 from the amalgamation of the 15th The King's Hussars and the 19th Royal Hussars (Queen Alexandra's Own), bringing together two light cavalry regiments with roots stretching back to 1759 and 1779 respectively.
The 15th Hussars served at Emsdorf in 1760 — one of the most celebrated hussar actions in British history — while the 19th Hussars distinguished themselves in the Sudan and the Boer War. In the First World War both regiments served on the Western Front, and in the Second World War the 15th/19th operated as an armoured regiment in North Africa and North-West Europe. The regiment amalgamated into the Light Dragoons in 1992, carrying a hussar tradition of speed, dash and independent action that stretches back over two and a half centuries.
This regimental tie carries the 15th/19th's colours with the hussar spirit that has always defined light cavalry at its best.
