Three Centuries of Irish Hussar Spirit.
The 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars were raised in 1693 and went on to serve with distinction across more than two and a half centuries of British military history. Despite suffering heavy losses during the Second World War, the regiment refused to be diminished — playing a pivotal role in the preparations for the invasion of occupied Europe, helping to turn the tide of the war before their amalgamation in 1958.
Theirs is a story of sacrifice, resilience, and Irish fighting spirit that deserves to be remembered.
