History
The Opel Manta A GT/E, launched in 1974, marked the peak of the Manta A series, which debuted in 1970. Designed as a stylish, affordable coupé, the Manta was Opel's answer to the Ford Capri, capturing the spirit of the era's sporty, compact cars. The GT/E variant distinguished itself as a high-performance model, featuring a fuel-injected 1.9-litre engine producing 105 horsepower—considerable for its time. With its blacked-out trim, distinctive stripes, and sport-tuned suspension, the GT/E offered both speed and style, quickly gaining a following among enthusiasts. The Manta A GT/E’s combination of performance and sleek design solidified its status as an icon of 1970s motoring, blending European elegance with accessible sports car dynamics before production ended in 1975.
